Some random thoughts percolating in my crazy brain:

Yesterday my whole family went to Barnegat for a barbecue at Stephen & Doreen’s new house in a 55+ community. Jean and I both liked the house, which is certainly large enough for two people and does have a spare room with enough wall space for my bookcases, which would be a necessity for me before I would consider buying a house. However, the houses are close together so there is hardly any land for landscaping and gardening, which is a necessity for Jean to consider buying a house. The community is 20 minutes from Long Beach Island, which would probably be an incentive for the boys to visit frequently.

Every summer the BMG Music Club offers me a Buy 1–Get 4 Free offer, which is when I do the bulk of my cd buying. I have picked out a bunch of cds I think I will order: Fleetwood Mac’s Tusk, ELO’s On The Third Day, Jethro Tull’s Minstral in the Gallery and Songs From the Woods, The Moody Blues’ Every Good boy Deserves Favour, and one current cd, The Decemberists’ acclaimed The Crane Wife.

Since I recently finished reading C.J. Cherryh’s first Foreigner trilogy, I have decided the next series of books I want to read is Jack McDevitt’s Academy trilogy. I already have the first book The Engines of God, which I read a decade ago and enjoyed (although I plan to reread it), so I’ve ordered the next two books Deepsix and Chindi. I hope to read this entire series of 6 books in the next year or so.
