Today was the start of my annual Honors Algebra 2 projects in which groups of 4 students teach Statistics to the rest of the class in some innovative and creative manner. This is probably the most fun thing we do all year in my classes, and this year’s group of sophomores are particularly enthusiastic, so these are two days of fun classes.

The senior prom is tonight, so many of my seniors are enjoying their last weekend as high school seniors. Many faculty members attend the cocktail hour each year to see the seniors in formal wear, but it is longer than an hour ride each way for me, which seems rather long for a visit lasting less than an hour, especially since I was out late both Monday and Tuesday nights and can really use a rest!

Paste Magazine recently selected the top 100 modern pop songwriters, and I was pleased that three of my very favorite artists topped the list: Bruce Springsteen was #3, Neil Young was #2 and Bob Dylan was #1. Since Young and Dylan are the artists whose songs I most prefer to play on guitar, I guess I agree with the quality of their songwriting.
