I'm sorry I've been away from this blog for so long, but this is the time of year when school is so hectic that I rarely have free time to do things such as update a blog. So here are a few highlights (and lowlights) of the past week):
> My young son was offered a summer internship working in Finance at Prudential, which is what he was hoping to do. If this job is as successful as last summer's internship in Accounting was, he'll be in good shape heading into his job-hunting senior year.
> My wife started her five-week summer teaching session, which consists of 4 consecutive hours every morning. That is an incredibly-tiring schedule, and probably not good either on a teacher's back or feet. No wonder my chiropractor says that the largest group of patients she treats are teachers.
> Thursday my school experienced the type of horrendous day that hopefully only happens once in a school's existence. In a brief 7 hours we had a boy brandishing a knife, a food fight, graffiti spray-painted in a hallway, and somebody pulling a fire alarm so that the entire building was evacuated. This was the fifth time this school year we made the front pages, none of which reflected well on the school.
> Thankfully, this is a three-day Memorial Day weekend, so I have time to both relax and finish a lot of chores, both school-related and personal. They include collating 75 issues of my quarterly magazine and preparing them for mailing sometime next week (which will be another crazy schedule, but more about that later...)
