Summer vacation has begun for the rest of my family–but not for me!! Mark and Kate and 7 of their friends are on their way to North Carolina for a week, while Andy is working while looking for a fall internship in a hotel. Jean still has to give exams next week, but then she will be teaching the summer session at CCM, which ends before my regular school year does. Is this totally unfair? ☺

I think my caustic personality has driven another student away, which is something I have tried hard not to do since alienating somebody who thought of me as a second dad nearly a decade ago. I am really upset about this, since I try so hard to help my students as much as possible, not to be part of the problem in their lives. *sigh*

Currently listening: Feel The Noize–Slade’s Greatest Hits. Nobody made non-pretentious, fun rock ‘n’ roll better than Slade. So why weren’t they big stars on the order of lesser bands such as Kiss and Motley Crue? There ain’t no justice in this world.

Currently reading: The current issue of the excellent quarterly prozine Postscripts, which started out as featuring all genres of reading, including horror, mystery, fantasy and science fiction, but has basically settled into primarily f&sf, which suits me just fine.
