Sunday was Andy’s 26th birthday, so he, Jean and I went to IHOP for brunch. It was enjoyable.

Although I am anxious to return to my writing this week after accomplishing little the first month of summer vacation, I have not gotten as much done yet as I was hoping. Mostly it is due to routine activities we did not accomplish previously because of the wedding, Jean’s family visiting, and camping. *sigh*

While we were camping, Alan and Denise had crossword puzzles with them which we all did while sitting around the campsites a few days. I enjoy doing crossword puzzles, although I seldom have the time to do them. Since they are a good way to exercise the brain, I have started doing last Sunday’s crossword puzzle and we’ll see how well that goes.

I have accumulated free “points” for doing online surveys, so I redeemed them by subscribing to Saveur, a cooking magazine, for 9 issues. The first issue I received is interesting reading, with lots of appetizing recipes. I am hoping not to renew my subscriptions to either Archaeology or Historical Fiction Review for at least a year until I catch up on reading the back issues I have. I enjoy both subscriptions though, so that might be difficult for me to actually do.
