I had a very good time at the Valedictorian Dinner with Mimi and my brother who accompanied Chrissy, the Salutatorian. I also enjoyed the senior awards breakfast yesterday, where I gave Mimi the Mathematics Student of the Year award, which was well-deserved. I told the audience that I gave the first such award in 1995 to “a student whose equal I never thought I would ever see, but 14 years later I have.”

Last night we went with Alan and Denise to the Chinese buffet in the trade zone. We went there when it first opened and were not impressed by it. But now that our favorite buffet closed, we tried it again. Not only has it improved tremendously, but it is even better than the other one was (as indicated by all the Chinese patrons there), so we were pleased. Afterwards we came home and Alan installed my new external hard drive, which I wanted for more secure backup storage.

The swapping continues! This morning I am mailing out two books and two cds, plus another cd has arrived, giving me immediate credit to select a cd. I don’t plan to select any books for awhile, since I already have too many new ones to read, but will replace cds

Andy went to Atlantic City after work Thursday, and today he will be joined by Mark and other friends of theirs for a bachelor party. Both of my sons are very thrifty, so I don’t expect them to do a lot of gambling while they are there. ☺
