A pet is really a member of one’s family, so it is very sad when you’ve had a pet for 15 years and then she begins deteriorating right before your eyes. Misty was a healthy cat as recently as a week ago, although she had an inoperable tumor which we knew was growing. In the past week she has become incredibly feeble, barely able to walk, weighs almost nothing and, although she is not in pain yet, obviously does not have much longer to live. This has cast a pall over the entire family, and none of us are looking forward to the inevitable day when she either cannot get around at all, or is in constant pain, and must be put down.

Thankfully, Tiger is still healthy although, at age 13, she is only two years younger so who knows how much longer she will continue to be healthy. *sigh*
