Hi all, we’re back from a week at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We stayed at a huge condo on the sound where we had a constant view of all the boats passing by. Whenever we walked on the pier behind our condo, dozens of ducks came swimming by, especially when I fed them pieces of bread.

We kept busy most of the week enjoying the pool and the ocean, visiting many of the sights (such as the Wright Brothers Memorial, the Victorian Gardens, several waterside villages), a trip on a dolphin watching boat, lots of delicious seafood, and several walks through uninhabited wildlife preserves.

Overall, it was a very relaxing week. While the temperature was hot, being by the water made it tolerable. The ocean itself was very cold, in the lower 60 degree range, while areas slightly north or south of us had ocean water in the lower 80 degrees. Something to do with winds in the area bringing up colder water from the depths.
