This has been a much less stressful week than the previous one was, and the weekend should be a bit more relaxing as well. I anticipate finishing all my school chores this morning, and perhaps having a bit of time to do my own work afterwards. That will be so nice, especially with a 2½ day week ahead followed by more free time! ☺
Hillary Clinton as secretary of state? That seems a strange choice for somebody who does not have the personality for schmoozing with fellow diplomats and heads of state, but if she brings her husband along with her on official trips she’ll be just fine.
As the stock market continues its decline, and my savings along with it, I wonder if it would just be better for me to never retire and be like Mimi-Taylor who taught until she was 70 years old, or even the media specialist in Madison who retired at the age of 89 (and got a raise in pay since her pension was so high by that time)!
I am already thinking about losing two of this year’s students when they graduate. I seem to go through empty-nest syndrome every year.
Currently listening: Bruce Springsteen’s excellent album Magic, in anticipation of his next album being released in January.
Currently reading: I’ve had the urge to go back and re-read some classic sf from the 1970s, so I selected Philip José Farmer’s great To Your Scattered Bodies Go, to be followed by its equally-fine sequel The Fabulous Riverboat.
