Random thoughts floating through my brain...

The weather has suddenly shifted from mid-autumn to early winter, and I don’t like it!

I have been so busy the past 10 days that I have accomplished nothing but workworkwork. Is there really a 4½ day weekend coming up soon?

Now that Barack Obama has a mandate to bring change to the country, I wonder how much he can actually accomplish with an economy in tatters, our foreign policy shredded by the disastrous Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld war in Iraq, a populace so short-sighted that people would rather pay less taxes then stabilize the country, and people so selfish they will continue to drive big gas-guzzlers and waste natural resources rather than compromise for the sake of the future.

Two of the biggest hindrances to public education is legislators who know absolutely nothing about it, but keep making absurd laws which hinder everything professionals are trying to do in schools; and judges who side with aggrieved students challenging schools when in actuality those students–or their parents–are part of the problem, but the judges either cannot see that or are too ignorant of education to realize it.

I can think of several immediate ways to save money spent on education: cut all out-of-school sports and return them to the intramural level, and cut the number of administrators in half.

I have not been a big tv watcher in several decades, so the only program I watch at all these days is Jeopardy! And I still think I am good enough to win on it. ☺
