Every year I kind of block out of my mind how crazy school gets around AP testing time, and this year is even worse than usual for a variety of reasons besides my usual workload: one of my teachers is on medical leave the rest of the year, so I am doing his grades as well as mine; I am also responsible for doing AP audits for two courses since College Board is insisting that all schools offering AP courses do these extensive audits for some unexplainable reason. There is another AP teacher in my department, but she is retiring and refuses to do an audit, so I am stuck doing both.

We currently have 6 openings in my department next year due to retirements, transfers, and maternity leave, so we are spending hours trying to find math teachers. There are so few math teachers available though that it seems almost impossible to find 6 qualified people. Considering that we had one unfilled position this entire year, and currently have 2 long-term substitutes teaching, the immediate future looks pretty bleak right now.
