What began as a mild winter has been absolutely frigid for nearly two months now, and shows no immediate signs of easing into an early Spring. Maybe the federal government’s claim that global warming is an illusion is actually true (don’t worry: that was only sarcasm. ☺).

Tomorrow night and all-day Saturday are an NJEA workshop for its local leaders. As vice-president of my teachers’ association, I am attending the workshop on Legal Issues. It should be a long, likely tedious two days, but with our long-time president retiring, somebody needs to keep up on legal issues affecting teachers.

Yesterday was the start of March Madness, which loses a bit of luster this year since my alma mater Seton Hall did not qualify for the Big East Tournament, and Jean’s alma mater Syracuse lost in the first round today (after winning the tournament last year in a major upset). It is no fun rooting for other people’s schools.
