Some random comments...

Last night we visited two of our longtime friends for a night of dinner and pinochle. For decades the four of us got together regularly, but for some reason two years have passed since we have socialized with them. You would think that when your children go to college and you become relatively free again you would have more time to socialize, not less.

Tuesday is Election Day, and it will be interesting to see if (1) Americans hold the Republican party accountable for the inadequacies of the federal administration, and (2) if mudslinging proves an effective campaigning technique resulting in victory. I tend to rebel against any mudslinger and vote for the opposition, which is one factor against Tom Kean, Jr., who brought the N.J. senatorial campaign to the lowest possible depth. He is a disgrace to his father’s legacy.

Our visit to Disney World was great last weekend, especially since it was relatively empty so we never had to wait more than 10 minutes to enter any attraction. After that, I cannot see our going to Disney World during the summer or busy Christmas break ever.

It’s only 50 days until Christmas. Has anybody started doing their shopping yet? ☺
