busy, busy, busy... One of the few things I have had time to do is post the latest issue of my magazine Visions of Paradise online at efanzine.com. Each issue has a theme and this is a Passing Scene issue in which I discuss our trip to Italy last summer. If you don’t get enough of my babbling here, you can get more of it at that website.
Jean and I have tried various forms of exercise over the years. In recent years we have mostly done stretching routines and visits to the YMCA for both weight-bearing exercises and cross-training machines. Jean and Andy have both sampled some yoga, and have liked it quite a bit, so Jean and I are taking a weekly yoga class at CCM. It’s a pretty good combination of stretching, balance exercises, and stress-reduction. The problem is remembering every activity the instructor shows us each week. Hopefully we can find a dvd devoted to this particular type of yoga that we can use after the class finishes.
Currently listening: Tom Petty’s newest cd Highway Companion. It is technically a solo cd, but even when he abandons the Heartbreakers he takes lead guitarist Mike Campbell with him, so his solo sound is exactly like his group sound. This is a decent album, not surprisingly since Petty is not really capable of making anything less.
Currently reading: H.V. Morton’s famous 1950s book A Traveler in Rome which combines fascinating travel commentary with in-depth history about the sites Morton visits. Having seen many of the places he discusses, I find this book fascinating, especially the history.
