It’s been a busy week, which is why I have not had time to update my blog. I’ll give you a few highlights here:

Monday night was our monthly Target Teach seminar, one of the better ones since Connie was the guest speaker and she always runs a really good workshop. I hope the kids appreciated it as much as I did.

Wednesday I picked up my “daughter” who was visiting New Jersey for a week to give a talk at a lab at Princeton. She spent the night here, and she, Jean and I spent a few hours discussing her upcoming wedding which will take place near Silvio’s hometown of Naples. His family has a small house on Capri, which is where the wedding will actually take place. Since Jean and I have never been to Italy, we certainly do not intend to fly there only for a one-day wedding, but instead hope to make a week out of it, visiting Rome and Venice in addition to Naples and Capri. It is still tentative, of course, but it looks hopeful that we will actually go to the wedding.

Speaking of “daughters,” Preeti was selected by the Rotary Club as one of their Students of the Year. She is thrilled with the honor, as am I, since she is certainly deserving of the designation. I am looking forward to attending the dinner in February.

Andy finished with exams today and came home tonight for his month’s vacation. Jean and Mark finish their exams Monday and start their–dare I say it?–month vacations as well. Yes, I feel a twinge of envy at that. My students better do their best to make me happy while the rest of my family is home vacationing (hint, hint, rabbit :))
