CURRENTLY LISTENING: CROPEDY, the live boxed set by Fairport Convention, and WATCHING THE DARK, a boxed set by Richard Thompson.

Fairport Convention was the center of the British folk-rock movement in the 60s and 70s, and they have continued recording with a changing cast of musicians. This live 30th anniversary album features a reunion of all their members during that period, and contains most of their most famous songs.

The superstar of Fairport Convention in the early years was guitarist Richard Thompson, who has since gone on to be perhaps the greatest singer-songwriters in rock music. His boxed set contains his best songs during his first 25 years recording, and is some of the finest music in my collection. Highly recommended.
