SNOW DAY!!! I went to bed last night expecting 2-4" inches of snow overnight, enough for a delayed opening, but probably not enough for a day off. So I was pleasantly surprised at 5:30am when my phone rang and the taped voice of my principal said “Parsippany H.S. is closed today due to inclement weather.”

Have I got plans for today! I’ll spend the morning catching up on chores I haven’t had time to do all week–log the monthly financial statements I received in the mail, type the new Math Team standings, finish counting the last 100 district survey results I received this past week at school, write RIDE THE LIGHTNING–my FAPAzine containing mailing comments about other members’ zines–collate the December issue of VISIONS OF PARADISE, maybe even begin editing the latest draft of Fei Fei’s Tibet book. Oh, yeah, I guess I’ll be shoveling snow for a few hours too. ☺

RECENTLY READ: Jack Vance’s TRULLION: ALASTOR 2262. Nobody creates wondrous worlds and characters as well as Vance, and this mystery is always colorful and enormous fun. It’s Vance at the top of his form during the era when he was writing such classics as “The Dragon Masters,” “The Last Castle” and his Demon Princes series.
