While I am not necessarily encouraging anybody to emigrate to another country, there are some people whom I think should be exempt from the airlines’ baggage fees so long as they only buy one-way tickets out of the country:

• politicians whose only concern is obviously protecting their own wealth and that of their rich friends at the expense of working class people (see: our governor and numerous members of Congress);

• school administrators whose agenda is so destructive to students’ learning that they are ruining an entire generation of students (see: my reasons for retirement);

• corporate executives who gouge the public so blatantly while giving themselves excessive bonuses that they could not possibly spend in their lifetime (see Exxon-Mobil);

• people who are so obviously unqualified for their positions that they are making a shambles of their place of business, but their superiors are clueless as to what is actually happening (see: my reasons for retirement);

• members of the media who seem more concerned with celebrity-watching, sordid soap operas, and doing everything possible to destroy consumer confidence in the economy (see: Andrew Weiner, Snookie, Fox News);

• athletes who are so self-absorbed that they believe their sport’s championship series is only about them, with all the other players being mere role players in their personal stardom (see: LeBron James);

• people who are so jingoistic about America’s greatness that they defend every action our government takes, no matter how amoral it might be, while attacking other countries for the exact same actions (you know who you are!).
