Teachers at my old school had their two days of meetings and preparation this week, and one of my friends phoned me yesterday to tell me the Math Lab has been totally re-arranged! She does not like its new appearance at all, nor the fact that it no longer resembles the way all the math teachers and students were used to it. She is certain it will no longer be the gathering place for math teachers and students as it was. How sad...

Currently reading: Since I enjoyed reading Ivanhoe so much awhile ago, I am now reading Robert Lewis Stevenson’s Kidnapped, another classic 19th century adventure. Stevenson is considered one of the best writers of that era, so we’ll see if this novel lives up to that standard.

Currently listening: Paul McCartney has had an up-and-down career as a solo recording artist, but he is still one of the most talented songwriters in rock and roll, so when he “stretches” himself as an artist, he is still capable of doing great things, even at the age of 67! His recent album Electric Arguments, released as by “the fireman” is definitely worthwhile listening.
