This has been an incredibly busy week at school, and it is not over yet! Monday was the annual Target Teach celebration, and since Jean has about 10 of the apprentices in her classes she stayed for it. The other TTP teachers gave me a $50 Borders card as a retirement present. I was very touched by it!

Tuesday was the Senior Award Night. I gave Math Student of the Year to Ben Sha, and Excellence in Math certificates to Neelam Upadhyaya, Neil Patel and John Kim. Congratulations to all of them, and all my other students who were honored as well.

Wednesday I went to the Board of Education meeting to receive a plaque as a retiring Distinguished Faculty member. Unbeknown to me previously, I also had to speak so, in my own words, I was “brief and largely incoherent.” ☺ Then Eric Berkowitz got this year’s Distinguished Faculty Award which was richly deserved. As I told him, it was like the passing of the torch. He was at my original award 10 years ago, so I was glad to be there for his.

Neelam (president of ICC) and Simon Inn (president of AAC) asked me to have a joint game night tomorrow before they graduate. How could I refuse them? It should be a fun night, although it is possible some of the attendees will be wearing the infamous Sabella tee shirts which Emily Kwan, incoming AAC president, expects to arrive this evening. That would be bizarre indeed!
