This is the start of the busy season at school. Next week are ICC show rehearsals every night, probably at least until 6:00 each day, and the show itself Friday. It’s a very good show though, so I think all the time spent on it will be worthwhile.
Other events in the next month include the NHS Induction (I’d better work on that speech!), a Morris Area Math Alliance meeting, the last Target Teach class and the annual celebration, the Valedictorian Dinner, a Scholarship luncheon, Senior Awards, 2 graduation parties (one high school, one college), and the school Retirement Banquet (another speech to work on!).
It’s a bit scary to think that I am less than two months away from the end of my teaching career. I was working with a bunch of students one afternoon this week (about 20 of them spread through my classroom and the Math Lab), when they began the usual talk about wanting me to return next year to tutor them. I would not mind doing that, but I do not see how it is possible. I offhandedly mentioned to them that I will probably never be as popular again as I am right now, and they all agreed! Crazy kids. ☺
