One of the highlights of the school year is the annual Valedictorian - Salutatorian dinner, at which the top two students at each school in the county are honored along with their parents and one teacher. Because I have such a good relationship with my honors students for two years, I have been fortunate enough to attend that dinner 14 times since 1992 with some really wonderful students. Today I was invited to go to my last dinner with this year’s valedictorian, which made me very happy because she is a really nice girl whom I like a lot.

I have some really wonderful students this year whom I am going to miss next year, including those going to college and those who will still be in school but with a different AP Calculus teacher than me. If possible, I will try to help anybody who needs me through the internet (which I’ve been doing already with some former students already in college), students and teachers alike. I may be retiring, but I'm not abandoning everybody I leave behind.
