I have my first cold of the winter, complete with so much congestion I have chest pains. However, I have not felt rundown in spite of this cold, so I am hoping that is a sign that its duration and severity will not be extensive.
For some reason, I have been spending even more time than usual with students lately, both mine and those of other teachers, so much so that I have been totally unable to get even the briefest work done at school. I enjoy helping students, and it is certainly fulfilling to be needed, and I know that I will miss all this attention next year, but I have been a bit stressed out at school lately because of it.
Currently reading: I subscribe to four magazines currently: The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Locus (the newsletter of the science fiction field), Saveur and Condé Nast Traveler. Those zines cover most of my major interests (science fiction, cooking, and travel writing). Only history is not included in my current subscriptions, and that is because I still have a backlog of issues of Archaeology and Historical Fiction Review to read before I renew those magazines. I enjoy all those magazines, but it is very hard to keep up with them and also read books. I am anticipating more reading time in the foreseeable future though...
