Yesterday we went to dinner at the homes of our friends Marilyn & Frank. Frank is a fascinating person who has interests in several fields which overlap my own interests. Besides being a photographer (with whom I am currently collaborating on a travel book), he loves history (he was a history teacher for 30 years before retiring recently) and movies (he and another friend have collaborated on a western screenplay).
Our monthly visits alternate between going somewhere of either cultural or historical interest, or meeting at one of our houses where we chat. We took them to the Sculpture Garden near Princeton a few months ago, and they reciprocated by taking us to Thomas Edison’s laboratory and home a month later. Now it’s my turn to think of someplace to go next month.
