In an average winter I stay home one day from school because of bad roads, but today is the second time already I have done that this school year. My driveway and road were skating rinks this morning, making it almost impossible to get out of the neighborhood before noon. I feel bad staying home when school is in session, but I really had no choice.

I still have the same head cold I had during most of vacation, so school has been extremely tiring the past two days. Hopefully, spending this day home will help my recovery a bit. Normally colds do not bother me much, which actually makes me feel worse when one is particularly bad. Not that I would ever have hypochondriac tendencies, of course! ☺

Currently reading: I enjoy books that infuse history with travel, so Tim Severin’s In Search of Robinson Crusoe seems like an ideal mixture. So far it is very enjoyable.

Currently viewing: While I do not watch much television, I have a small collection of videos which I watch very slowly. I am currently about one-third of the way through Season One of Star Trek: the Next Generation, which is one of my two favorite tv shows (the other being M*A*S*H, which I also have two seasons of). When I get the occasional urge to watch something, I will invariably choose one of those rather than something new such as Lost or Seinfeld (ok, relatively new, haha).
