Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were good with lots of food and gifts for everybody. However, at Christmas Eve, when the entire family gathered at my brother’s house, my nephew’s one-year old baby had a stomach virus, so by Christmas night nearly the entire family was infected with it. Jean and I were miserable all day yesterday, basically sitting in the rec room reading and watching tv, hardly eating anything, too exhausted to do anything else. We feel slightly better today, although not totally.
As usual, we stayed home Christmas Day. Andy worked during the day, so we had dinner in the evening after he came home and Mark and Kate arrived from her family’s house. My gifts included three cds (The 21st Century Guide to King Crimson, The Strawb’s Bursting at the Seams and Renaissance’s Live at Carnegie Hall), and three books (Sir Walter Scott’s Ivanhoe, Olaf Stapledon’s Last and First Men and Baroness Orzy’s The Scarlet Pimpernel). They should give me a lot of entertainment in the days ahead.
