Today was a two-hour snow delay, which I needed since my driveway as a sheet of ice, as was our road. I am not sure if we could have gotten in on time otherwise.

College students have been finishing their exams, and the first year students are coming back to visit, which is nice. Today Sabrina and Megan visited after school. I hope to see several more before Christmas vacation starts.

Food is important to me, and I enjoy cooking and eating both. Much of our eating during school consists of leftovers from the previous weekend, so tonight we ate homemade turkey soup and cornbread–one of my favorite breads!–and one new item, a potato frittata. Now that we are finished with most of our leftovers, I’ll cook something new tomorrow night.

Currently listening: As Christmas approaches, it is time to listen to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Christmas Eve and Other Stories, a fabulous collection of songs inspired by classic Christmas carols, and including my very favorite Christmas song, “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24.” If you have never heard this album, I recommend it very highly.
