This is a three-day weekend and I have lots of plans (as usual). My main chore is to finish editing the Tibet book, but I also have schoolwork and other activities, including going with Jean, Mark and Kate to a Seton Hall basketball game at the new Prudential Center (where Mark can park in the adjacent garage since he’s a Prudential employee. :)
Yesterday was the type of day at school which reminded me again how difficult it will be for me to retire in a few years. I spent nearly an hour after school sitting with two students who are my most enjoyable students this year, doing some schoolwork and chatting. Sometimes I fear that I am too attached to my students, especially this year, and that retirement will be more difficult because without my students in the Math Lab I might end up being lonely all the time. I don’t want to end up like the librarian who retired when she was 90 years old!
Those of you who like rock and roll might want to check up my other blog today where I discuss some of my favorite rock musicians of all time.
