The graduation party was fine, and we’ve been eating leftover baked ziti, chicken parmigiana, and sausage and pepper ever since! I’ve often thought that every weekend we should order a platter of some Italian delicacy from one of the many fine local pizzerias and eat our hearts out all week! I suspect I would gain considerable weight under those circumstances, but I would also be exceedingly happy in gastronomic heaven! ☺

Now that most colleges are finished with their spring semester, former students are starting to visit the math lab. Today I saw two graduates from last year whom I enjoyed seeing, but unfortunately was not able to chat with much. Hopefully they’ll come back again sometime.

Currently reading: The Rediscovery of Man is a collection of the complete short fiction of Cordwainer Smith, one of the most idiosyncratic writers in sf ever. A succinct description of his fiction could be “the future as mythology.” Really good stuff.

Currently listening: Wingspan is a two-cd set of songs from Wings, Paul McCartney’s underrated post-Beatles group. For all his ups and downs as a songwriter, he still produces am amazing number of gems periodically throughout his career, including one of the all-time best albums Band on the Run.
