Today is the start of a nine-day Spring Break, during which I have lots of school and other chores to complete, including finishing my third marking period grades, writing a PTHEA newsletter, collating and mailing VoP , picking up Ceil at the airport Tuesday, and preparing for next weekend, since my entire family is coming Easter Saturday and, as usual, we are having Easter dinner at home. That’s not a lot of work really for an entire week, so I’m anticipating a good week of catching up on work, reading, and writing. We’ll see... ☺

Last night was an Asian-American Club Sushi Tea Dance which went pretty well in spite of a bit of a slow start, since the kids did not finish setting up until 7:30 for a 7:00 dance, which usually is not a problem since Asian kids notoriously come late for dances. But because we were offering sushi, they showed up on time so that the kids were standing around with nothing to do for the first half-hour. But once the sushi arrived and the music began playing, everybody had a really good time. And those kids are so well-behaved that it was a relatively stress-free night for me (if not for Kim who was so anxious the entire night I feared for her health!).

The only relatively bad part about the dance was the the kids had such a good time with their friends and dancing that nobody wanted to sit and chat with me. I talked with Nini awhile, who is a really nice kid, and with Natalie the v-p, but other than that I graded a test and read a magazine most of the night. I really need to get a co-advisor so I can have somebody to talk to at these events.

After school yesterday I went to Borders where I bought C.J. Cherryh’s Invader, a novel I am looking forward to reading during this break. I also met Jean at Olive Garden where we had a really good meal, which unfortunately drained my appetite for sushi afterwards, haha.
