While I am not normally a television watcher, I do enjoy watching the NCAA tournament, especially when Big East teams are playing. My school Seton Hall and Jean’s school Syracuse lost in the first round, but we still watch Villanova and UConn, who are two of the favorites playing for the final four this weekend. Don’t worry: I don’t waste much time viewing; I usually have tests to grade and, if not, magazines to read. My idea of watching a basketball game is looking up every few minutes to catch the score, haha.

I have done a bit of cd-buying this week, filling in a few gaps in my collection:

• Ray Davies’ new cd Other People’s Lives; Ray is probably my favorite rock artist ever as singer and songwriter for The Kinks. I have high expectations for this cd;
• Neil Young’s Comes A Time and Rust Never Sleeps; Neil is another giant of rock whose weakest albums are better than many artists’ strongest ones;
• Bob Dylan’s Bringing It All Back Home; Bob might not be as consistent as Ray and Neil, but his high points equal those of anybody else in rock;
• Melissa Etheridge’s Greatest Hits; anybody who saw her performance at last year’s Grammy Awards knows why I love her music.

Should be some good listening this weekend!

Oh, thank you. I hadn't heard about a new CD from Ray Davies. I'm also a big Kinks fan. And that reminded me that David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) also had anew CD out recently. There goes the money. Sorry, but Villanova and UConn are out, although your Huskies beat our Huskies. Glad to hear things have slowed down a little bit for you.
