Just my opinion...

• Mainstream media in this country mostly sucks. Their primary concern is latching onto a celebrity or a story and beating it to death under the mistaken belief that viewers/readers are more interested in gossip and People Magazine than real news;

• Politicians in this country–and perhaps everywhere–are generally arrogant and selfish. Their primary concerns are improving their financial status and being re-elected. They have very little concern for the people they supposedly represent;

• Both far right-wing conservatives and far left-wing liberals tend to be so obsessed with their extreme views that they have no concern for objective facts. They pick a position which suits their needs, then defend it to the hilt regardless of any justification for it;

• I am not thrilled with Barack Obama’s term as president. He is a very nice guy with high ideals, but his leadership compares to that of Jimmy Carter, another nice guy who failed miserably as president;

• I am even less pleased with the Republicans running for president: Michele Bachman and Sarah Palin are totally incompetent; Ron Paul is an extremist whacko; Rick Perry is another Chris Christie, taking credit for doing things that he either did not do or that he had no impact on; and Mitt Romney is so obsessed with being president that he changes position as quickly as you and I change clothing;

• I supported Hillary Clinton for president in 2008, and if she chose to run again in 2012, I would not only support her, but I believe she would win both the Democratic primary and the general election;

• I feel sorry for my former department who are starting the new school year under leadership which is not only incompetent, but totally counter-productive to good education. Why is it that the governor and general populace attack teachers freely, but have no interest in the horrendous administrators who are ruining education?;

• Why does our governor attack all public employees whom he feels earn too much money, but he apparently supports the head football coach at Rutgers who earned $1.9 million dollars in 2010? Does he really believe that a football coach is more important than police, fire fighters, teachers and superintendents of school?
