All right, all you Conservatives and Republicans can stop reading right now! While I don’t consider myself either a Liberal or a Democrat, I am a believer that a person’s actions–and a government’s actions–must rise above selfish concerns and petty behavior. Lies and deceit are unacceptable in professionals of any stripe, whether teachers, lawyers or politicians.

Which is why I am a strong advocate of getting George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld out of office as soon as possible for the good and welfare of the United States and, indeed, of the entire world.

Consider a few of the direct effects they are having right now on the American people:

> gas prices have risen drastically to all-time highs–$1.77 locally, which is typically the cheapest area to buy it; not only has the federal government taken no attempts to curb this price-gouging, but does anybody believe that Dick Cheney, an oil baron himself, is not in favor of this profiteering at the expense of the American consumer?

> those pictures which have been released of American soldiers abusing Iraqi detainees are despicable and cast a black mark on all Americans in the eyes of the world. Combine this with the report that the Red Cross informed the federal government of this in February, but were ignored because no public scandal had arisen at the time, and you wonder if the current federal government has any scruples at all.

> the Stock Market is dropping quickly to the 10,000 mark; perhaps big tax advantages for the rich is not the way to correct a suffering economy.

While I don’t particularly enjoy seeing bad things happening in this country, anything which might convince the myopic American people to vote George W. Bush out of office is acceptable under the “ends justifies the means” scenario. While I am not a rabid John Kerry fan, still wishing that John McCain had become president four years ago, include me among the “anybody but Bush” faction!
