Sorry I have been away so long, but school got so busy so fast that I have not had time to breathe, much less blog. I’m ready for a vacation already. ☺

Some random thoughts...

I heard on the news this morning that President Bush’s approval rating has gone up to 42%. I wonder what he actually did to merit that improvement? Control gas prices? Nope. Stop the fighting in Iraq? Nope. Come clean about domestic spying? Nope. Any ideas out there?

The Yankees and the Mets seem to be the best two teams in baseball this year. Another subway series would be nice, so long as it ends the same way it ended in 2000!

A lot of people complain about how terrible FM radio has become, especially rock and roll stations which only play “top 40" music. Why don’t those people do what I did and stop listening to commercial stations, but instead college and public stations which have no playlists and actually play as wide a range of music as FM stations traditionally did in the 1970s.

Peter Jackson, director of Lord of the Rings, recently bought movie rights to Naomi Novk’s acclaimed Temeraire series, whose premise is that during the Napoleanic Wars the British military included an air division which used dragons. Recently I ordered the first three volumes in the series, so I am looking forward to some good reading soon.
