Today is Mark and Kate’s engagement party at the swim club with 55-60 people attending. The weather is supposed to be in the 80s but with a chance of thundershowers. Hopefully everything will go fine.

Yesterday was the annual Math Department barbecue which continued a week of endless eating. Every morning during exams faculty members bring breakfast to school, and next week we have a luncheon Wednesday and a retirement banquet Thursday. This is worse than Christmas vacation!

I am not looking forward to next week’s graduation. It is always a bit sad bidding farewell to my students, but this year will be even sadder than usual. It seems as if every other teacher in the school is anxious for the year to end, but I would prefer it to continue a bit longer.
