Some facts to keep in mind at all times:

Never try teaching at a school which is undergoing construction while school is in progress. The construction workers either don’t recognize the need for quiet while teaching is taking place, or else take particular joy in disrupting the educational process.

Never believe a parent who begins a parent-teacher conference by stating, “I’m really not here to get you in trouble.”

Fifty-year old buildings are prone to breakdowns so frequently that frequent evacuations become a fact of life and teaching can become an exciting experience.

And these facts are brought to you by somebody who absolutely loves teaching!
