Last night was the annual Morris County Valedictorian-Salutatorian Dinner in which the top two students at all 32 high schools in the county are celebrated, along with their parents and one teacher each. I’ve gone to this dinner 9 times in the past 14 years, and I always enjoy attending it with some of my very favorite students. It’s one of the rare nights in which they are really treated as special for their academic excellence, along with the National Honor Society induction and the Senior Awards Night, all of which I attend faithfully.

Currently Reading: David Hartwell & Kathryn Cramer’s The Year's Best Fantasy #3, another good collection of slightly-left-of-reality fiction.

Currently Listening to the entire output of Supertramp, one of the giants of progressive rock, especially during the days when Roger Hodgson was part of the band. Especially highly- recommended is their finest album Even in the Quietest Moments.
